Another Mile Another Memory ~ Another Day Closer To Marine

As you read this I am in the 4Runner road-tripping the 8 hour drive to base.

And as you read this Marine is somewhere in the U.S. waiting for his final flight. The one that will bring him home.

Needless to say this has been written in advance along with several other posts that shall occur over the next few days while I am MIA {for real time updates follow me on Twitter}.

Today is not the actual day I will be reunited with Marine.

BUT TOMORROW IS!!!

After all the waiting. All the care packages. All the days of not knowing. All the phone calls that end with "Babe my times up". All the I Love You's and I Miss You's. All the sleepless nights.

It's finally come to an end. I'm so proud of Marine for so many reasons; the obvious one and the less obvious ones.

**HELP ~ Perfect Outfit Required**

I need help.

Once again I've procrastinated {surprise, surprise} but in my defense things have been super SUPER hectic. As in can't even begin to tell you how busy, hectic.

Please tell me what I should wear when I see Marine for the 1st time in 7 months.

Originally I had the intentions of posting this weeks ago.

That didn't happen.

End result is me running around like a chicken with my head cut off taking pics against my bathroom door. Which is NOT a good background.

This would be the time my camera also decides to not cooperate and blur EVERYTHING. So please keep in mind all these are actually cute outfits despite what the pictures may say.

Ok so now I need YOUR help!! Please vote and let me know what you think I should wear!

Keep in mind also that rain is predicted for homecoming day { boo :( }.

LOL Convo's ~ A Hollywood Moment & Rotting Eggs

Who: Me & Hollywood
Where: Sitting at a table at Girlfriends Wedding Reception

E: "Notice the farther north we go the faker the blonde hair gets?"

Hollywood looking off into space as if she hasn't heard what I've said: "Sometimes I just get the urge to slap the sh*t out of someone." she turns to me, "Do you ever feel like that?"

Hmmmmmm not sure how to respond to this but I did about fall out of my chair laughing.

-----------------------------------------------------------
Not Quite As Funny...... more panic on my part
Who: Me and Marine
Setting: Talking on the phone catching up as he waits for a flight

E: "Yeah your sister and I have really bonded while you've been gone."

Marine: "That's good."

E: "Well you know besides the whole her calling me a cougar part and telling me we need to hurry and have kids because once I'm in my 30's our kid is more likely to have problems. I think our mom's have put her up to the whole baby pressure thing."

Marine slightly laughing: "You may be right but she's right the there are some risk factors that are higher for women over 30."

SILENCE

My jaw is hanging open.

Marine: "Babe you still there?"

E: "Yeah."

SILENCE

My eyes have suddenly welled.

Marine: "You ok?"

E: "I THOUGHT SHE WAS LYING!!! Really??!! After 30 somethings going to be wrong with our kids??"

Marine in damage control soothing voice: "No, just saying that some risks do increase with age. But our kids will be fine. Your in great heath and so am I. Our kids will be fine."

Silence

Marine: "I love you."

E: "Yeah yeah my eggs are apparently rotting as we speak but I love you to." I laugh.

Marine: "Well I still love you."

E: "It's a good thing cause the 4 years we were waiting to have kids has just went down to 2."

Side note ~ So ready for him to be home!! }

TAG.... Wait I'm It? No YOUR It!

Remember when you were a kid and you and a bunch of friends would play tag?? It you weren't the one that was "it" you probably remember running like hell dodging back and forth trying to not get tagged.

Well this is a little different than that because in this game of tag you don't see your opponent lurking in the shadows. They just jump out of nowhere and TAG YOUR IT!!!

I was tagged. I'm it. Be scared cause I'm lurking and you just may be next!!! lol

Ok.... ok.... thats my Thursday morning attempt to be funny. In all seriousness Rachel from over at Romancing Rachel has tagged me in a game in which you have to answer 8 questions that she has come up with. Then I have to come up with 8 questions of my own and tag other people.

Rachel came up with some good questions.....

1. What was your best date ever? It doesn't have to be with your current significant other.

Oh wow.... best date ever...... let me think......  I've been on a lot of lame dates..... a few so-so
dates...... some good dates..... but best date ever.....

I would have to say it was my birthday 2009. Marine had a whole surprise, special evening planned for the 2 of us. It wasn't just a date night, it was more a date day that ended with a full course meal at the Melting Pot. Delicious does not even begin to describe the four course meal that ended with the most amazing desert ever!!

This was the best date ever for many reasons that are so mushy I can't even begin to explain without wanting to make ya'll gag from the whole "oh la la love" of it. It wasn't so much about where we were as to who I was with. It was a special night because I knew how hard Marine had worked to keep it a surprise and how cute it was that he wanted everything to be just perfect for my birthday. (For more details read the entire post)

2. What is the one song you're embarrassed to admit you not only love, but could sing all the way through without it playing on the radio?

The montage of New Kids On The Block, N'Sync, and Brittany Spears all just ran thru my mind. And who can forget Vanilla Ice or the Spice Girls?! Ok those last 2 I didn't love but their songs would get stuck in your head and drive you crazy......

I'm going to go though with Meredith Brooks one hit wonder I'm a Bitch. For some reason Vixen and I loved this song and would play it incessantly to drive others crazy. I can sing it word for word and still have to admit I love it. I love it not so much for the song itself but for the memories it invokes.

3. If you knew you'd get hired what would be your ideal job?

Working at a magazine. Hands down. Like Western Horseman, Bloodhorse, Glamour, Cosmo, or The Knot. Or a travel magazine would be nice also......

4. What is your favorite part of fall?

The cool crisp air, the beautiful fall colors that decorate the natural beauty of the mountains I live in...... and college football :)

5. In 5 words describe your sense of style.

Simple, Sporadic, Casual, Unique, Chic

6. Are you more of a texter or a talker?

It depends. I can go either way depending on who the person I'm communicating with is

7. Do you go out to eat alone? To movies alone?

No normally I don't. But I have eaten by myself before though and did enjoy the experience (even though it was not planned). Would I do it again? Sure.

And I would go see a movie alone but all my friends are movie people. So works out good.

8. What teacher made the biggest impression on you when you were in school?

I was lucky to have several different teachers over the years that made significant impacts on my life. There is one teacher that stands out above the rest. She taught an elective class in high school and I took it all four years for the simple fact I loved her. She not only taught me about things pertaining to the class but also things that have real life meaning. Below are a few words of wisdom that I remember her giving:

"Never marry a man unless he has lived on his own at least a year. Otherwise he goes straight from his momma taking care of him to wanting you to take care of him."

"If it's not written down it doesn't exist."

She always encouraged me to shoot for goals that I thought may have been unreachable and she always celebrated the victories with me when I achieved these goals.
Gotta love the words of wisdom though. I agree with the first one full heartedly. But thats another story for another day.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now time for my 8 questions.....
1. If you could pick one song that describes your life what would it be?
2. Your first kiss: Fairytale or tragedy?
3. If you were given a year in which you could do absolutely anything you wanted to do (money is no object) what would it be?
4. What is your favorite mistake and why?
5. The craziest thing you've ever found in your car that perhaps wasn't yours?
6. What is the best gift you've ever received?
7. As a kid your favorite thing to do/play was?
8. Answer the following question: If I didn't blog I'd probably ____________.
Now it's time to run around the blogosphere and tag! If your name is below I GOTTCHA!!! hahah :)
Now it's your turn, answer the questions and get to tagging!
It's A Nice Day For A Grand Wedding
This past weekend I attended one of my dear girlfriends weddings (this particular friend has been mentioned previously but I have never given her a name). To say the wedding was gorgeous is an understatement.....
Location
Aisle
The Beautiful Bride and Bridesmaids
Reception
The Grooms Cake Was Made To
Look Like Sushi
Brides Cake
Me ~ Used Vixen's Camera at the Wedding so had
to take this once I got home
My Super Cute Necklace
I thought I looked pretty nice consider how hard of time I had trying to find a dress
And as I said the wedding was beautiful; but then again for $25,000 it should have been [ and yes you did read that right ].
**Sigh** how nice it would be to plan a wedding with no budget.
But who am I kidding if I had $25,000 I wouldn't spend it on a wedding...... I'd spend it on this:
(The Horse not the guy) Asking Price $25,000
Sundowner Aluminum 3 Horse Gooseneck Living Quarters Trailer
3 Horse Trailer with living quarters -- Asking price $26,289
2010 Grand Jeep Cherokee
Or Marine & I would take a trip here
(Ireland)
Don't ever say I don't have priorities. :)
Nora Tyler Bing: As I recall, I saw the groom in the wedding dress.
Charles Bing: But that was after the wedding. It's not bad luck then.
Nora Tyler Bing: Honey, it's not good luck.
