The Perfectionist In Me Should Be Shot

I got an email this morning that pretty much fit me to a T and kinda helps explain why I have been M.I.A. lately.....

VIRGO - The Perfectionist (Aug 23 - Sept 22) Dominant In relationships. Conservative. Always wants the last word.. Argumentative. Worries. Very smart. Dislikes noise and chaos. Eager. Hardworking. Loyal. Beautiful. Easy to talk to. Hard to please. Harsh. Practical and very fussy.. Often shy. Pessimistic...

Ok well maybe not all of it. But the first part. "The Perfectionist" part. SO TRUE! I have spent the better part of a month working on a website job. I have made not 1 not 2 but seriously...... are you ready for it?......... 12! 12 layouts! I have made 12 layouts for this company!!! Do you know how many of these I actually like? Zero.

You read that right, Zero. I mean I like them but not enough to call any of them the "finished project". It all boils back down to that perfectionist aspect. I have finally figured out my problem. Design can only take a website so far. I mean what's the main thing you look at when you view a website? The pictures!

Despite how beautiful the design and layout is the pictures just don't look good enough. I've tweaked them as much as I can but still they just lack pizazz. Now I have to think of a nice way to tell the company this....

So if I would stop being a "perfectionist" and "worrying" so much I could maybe get it done and lose some stress! lol

The other part of that horoscope summary that is true is that I have to have the last word. Not sure why its just like some twisted law of nature.

Not sure that I agree with the "hard to please" part...... but maybe it is true at times....

Also last week Marine and I planted a garden. Maybe I'm stretching that slightly...... Marine plowed and planted a garden. I hoed and planted a strawberry patch :)

I have never had a garden before. Yeah some southern girl I am. lol I grew up on a horse farm. Horse being stressed in that sentence.

Marine's parents and his grandparents do a garden together every year. This year Marine has volunteered us to be a part of it as well. He made the garden about twice the size as it was last year. Just to give you an idea my little overachiever planted 75 pounds of potatoes. lol He plans on taking any excess to the local farmers market. I'm telling ya he's an 80 year old man trapped in a 24 year old body. Bless his heart gotta love him.

Since Marine got home everyone has wanted to visit with him, friends and family. Everyone is so happy he is home. One night last week we had diner at Red's parents house. I think I have mentioned before that Red's brother is Marine's BFF and best man (small world I know - lets name him Ford). Marine and Ford & Red's family's go way back.

Diner was steaks grilled on a Green Egg. I had heard how great these were but had never experienced one myself. It was a wonderful! Think Marine has definitely added one to the "things we need list"! :)

It was a fun night all the way around. I loved sitting and listening to Marine and Ford talk about crazy things they did over the years. And Red would chimed in with different stories like the time they helped her move while in college. Apparently they decided she had to much stuff and started dropping non-breakable boxes off her 3rd floor balcony. Needless to say they were never asked to help move again.

Saturday night we went over to Giggles and her husband's house. Giggles and I addressed shower invitations while the guys cooked fajitas. Giggles husband and Marine hit it off big time. He is also an ex marine so they have a lot in common.

At 1 a.m. I had to remind Marine we had 45 minute drive home.... I think there may be a new bromance brewing! Which is fine by me! Always great to spend time with Giggles :)

I'm still Zumba-ing away to! Dance and feel the burn! I'm still waiting for them to kick me out of the class due to lack of coordination.

Monica: Did you ever feel like sometimes you are just so unbelievably uncoordinated?
(Rachel taps into view. She is in perfect sync with the rest of the class)
Rachel: What? You just click when they click.

The Playing Field

So before going to bed most normal people make sure that they have set the coffee pot or something. I make sure that I have a Dr. Pepper in the refrigerator so it will be cold the next morning.

That has no relevance to the rest of the post. Just a fun fact I thought I would toss out there - because that is what I did last night before going to bed.

Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week. For one it means the week is half over, but more importantly it is usually the day Marine gets to call.

This morning at 6 a.m. my phone goes off and I nearly fall out of the bed trying to answer it. I don't wake up gracefully.

From the other end comes Marine's voice and for 20 minutes life is wonderful.

Sappy right?

Hate to tell you, you've got 7 more months of sappy (or 6 hopefully *fingers crossed*).

It was great just to hear his voice. But so many things to say that 20 minutes a week is not nearly enough. But we make do as I recap things from here; only telling the positive things. No sense telling him the 4runner is making a new funny noise. No need for him to worry.

For anyone else going thru deployment that is reading this the number one piece of advice I would like to give is: stay positive.

Don't tell your loved one of problems at home that he can not solve. After you have solved the problem then you can tell him about it if you must. But don't send a letter telling him of the problem unless you are also telling him you have solved it.

Marine has enough going on, he doesn't need to worry about me also.

Have I mentioned how great he is?

Well I'm sure you've heard my bitch/moaning/venting about being broke? And that my hours were cut back at work? And that I've picked up a 2nd job that doesn't pay as much but hey every little bit helps?

If not.... well that pretty much sums it up.

Like everyone in America money is tight.

And Marine and I are trying to save for the Wedding.

Before he left we opened a joint checking account and set it up on auto-deposit so that we both transfer so much money into it a month.

About a month ago Roomie's wife (Marine's roommate on base's wife) invited me to Vegas for her birthday in July. I've never been to Vegas and would love to go. But last I checked round trip flight was $350. Which is embarrassingly almost more than I make in a week now with the cut hours.

Marine: "So are you flying out for Roomie's wifes birthday?"

Me: "Tickets are to expensive... I'm going to keep checking and if I can find a cheap flight I would like to go."

Marine: "You should go, you need to go do something fun. Take money out of the joint account and buy a ticket."

Me: "No I'm not going to do that!"

Marine: "Why not?"

Me: "Because you are putting more money than I am into that account and I'm not spending your money."

Marine: "It's our money. Besides I'm over here for 7 months. It's not like I'm spending any money. It's ok if you splurge. Besides I think it would be good for you and Roomie's wife to get together."

Me: "We'll see."

And I change the subject.

When in a relationship I like to be equals. On an equal playing field.

But what happens when your not? What happens when you are still haunted by the past that you can't seem to get rid of?

Marine is very money smart. Quite the little saver.

Yep, I used to be like that, and one day I plan on being so again. But I am still paying off debt from X. Now I can't blame my debt on him entirely but I can at least a good 85% of it.

Why am I responsible for the debt of the relationship and X left squeaky clean? Because sometimes its worth it to get rid of them.

Marine knows about my debt and I hope to have it paid off before we get married. But with baby showers, and four close friends getting married within the next 6 months (three of which I am in) - the debt pay off plan has taken a major hit.

So saying that I am tight when it comes to spending money is putting it a little mildly.

I appreciated Marine's offer to pay for the plane ticket. But at the same time I don't want him to pay for it - I want to be able to on my own.

What do you think?

Relationships and love are blind, so they say. I love Marine and I know he loves me despite my flaws and imperfections. But I don't want my past to affect my future. I want us to be on an equal field.

But then I guess in away you never really are. One partner will always make more money than the other (more than likely).

So now it's your turn to weigh in: Vegas or no Vegas?

Rachel: (Picking up the phone) Hello? Vegas? Yes, we would like some more alcohol, and you know, we would like some more beers too... hello? Oh wait... I forgot to dial. (There is a knock at the door)
Ross: That must be our alcohol and beers

I Wish I Could Make This Stuff Up

Friday was an interesting day.

To say the least.

The printer tore up at work and since I'm the youngest person in our office it is automatically assumed that I shall be the one to fix it. Even though let's face it I really have no clue. But I do give it some great effort and determine ~ and after a Google search and trying multiple things I diagnose that it's the printer. Even when unplugged from the computer it still prints strange symbols never stopping the insanity until the paper tray is empty.

By 1 o'clock I am ready to hit it with a baseball bat. Instead I take a deep breath and escape to go grab some lunch.

It is a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L day!!

On the way to pick up lunch I swing thru the ATM to take out some cash for the weekend. I recently received a new debit card, and I thought I knew the pin. [ Thought being the key word in this sentence. ] After two failed attempts I retrieve my debit card in fear that a third attempt will cause the machine to eat my card.

No biggie I will just write a check for Cash, go thru the drive-thru and cash it. Simple.

Have I mentioned I live in a small town?

Just making sure you remember.

And X's current Girlfriend, Physco-Bitch, works at this particular bank.

As luck would have it I pull into the drive-thru and there she is behind the window. Yep that fits right into the day I've been having.

She looks surprised to see me - maybe because I usually avoid the drive-thru by taking my banking needs inside.

I smile and say hello.

The drawer opens and I place my check inside. As the drawer slowly closes a nice spring breeze blows through and catches my check lifting it out of the drawer and thus begins it's flight across the parking lot.

Physco and I meet eyes both surprised by this turn of events. The difference being she has a glint in her eye pleased and the glint in my eye is panic as my signed check blows across the parking lot.

I jump out of the 4runner - leaving it running and still parked in the drive thru - and dash to catch the check that has now come to a landing.

As I near the wind catches it again and carries it further out of my grasp.

This really happened.

I dash and stomp on it before the next breeze comes through. I pick it up and make my way back to the window. I just laugh.

I mean really what else can you do?

Physco seems surprised at my laughter. As the drawer opens I say with laughter, "well that seems about right for the type of day I've had."

You would think she would laugh to. But no. She seems bummed that I wasn't upset by the event.

As she finishes my transaction and sends my cash back thru the drawer I smile, "Have a great weekend."

This is met with a smirk and stony silence.

Ah well can't please them all.

I pull away knowing that this story will be spread like wildfire and that the majority of the population will probably know about it before I get back to work.

I wish I could make this stuff up. Really.

My Horse, My Equal

Ah the life of a klutz! Never a dull moment to say the least. But really could I just get hurt/injured in a normal way? I mean I do all kinds of dangerous/stupid stuff! I have a two year old horse I'm breaking to ride for crying out loud. Thank goodness my Guardian Angel is looking out then. But apparently she feels like when I'm doing mundane things she can go on coffee break..... and that my friends is when the klutz side takes form and I get hurt.

As a recap in the past few months I have:

Broke a bone in my mouth and dislodged a front tooth resulting in braces and who knows what else. Still in braces at this point.

Horse and I have fallen sideways in which she landed on my leg. Both of us were ok though. Apparently we were just proving a point that the dirt was to deep in the arena.

And those are just the major events. Don't get me started on the little bruises, etc. My mom has threatened to buy me hockey pads and make me wear them around on a daily basis.

Well Saturday I was getting ready for the show. I had just finished giving horse a hair cut. I go climb up on the step stool to unplug the extension cord. I have a million and one things going thru my mind. I turn and instead of climbing down the step ladder (you know the small ones that are a few feet high), I turn and step off. My right foot going down first. Simple. I've done it before. As my right foot makes contact with the ground my ankle twists up under me and I crash to the concrete scraping my left leg up in the process. I am frozen in fear that my ankle is broken. I sit on the edge of the concrete trying to breath calmly. Horse has stepped forward in the cross ties and is peering down the hall at me as if trying to figure out why I have abandoned her.

I don't cry but I heard the pop. I am afraid my ankle is broken. So I sit a moment trying to remain calm. A few seconds pass, I wiggle my toes. Good. A few more seconds, I move my ankle. Great! Still hurting... I stand up and walk a minute on it. It hurts and is already swelling. I put Horse back in her stall and head for the house. I put ice on my ankle and pop some ibuprofen. I'm not unfamiliar to sprains ~ my right ankle is weak from an old basketball injury anyway.

Yep I'm a klutz. Now this is when one of my friends calls and says "So you can't show today."

Nope I went to the show. For points purposes I had to be there and participate. Winning was not as important as my being entered.

The irony came Sunday when I went to give Horse a bath (we didn't get home from the show till 4:30 a.m. so she did not get a bath till later that afternoon). Vixen always says that Horse and I are to much alike ~ mainly because I have allergies and so does she. Both of us were sneezing up a storm Saturday. So Sunday I am bathing her and her right ankle is swollen..... I rack my brain trying to think when this could have happened. Nope I got nothing. She even had on protective boots..... she isn't favoring it or anything but nonetheless it is swollen. So I ice her down and then doctor on her as well. Maybe we really are just alike.

I've spent most of my life riding horses. The rest I've just wasted.

Head Strong

Fact: Looks mean nothing until you think you may lose them.

Everyone has something about them they would wish to change. No matter how beautiful the person is. I have never considered myself beautiful per say, maybe cute. But not beautiful. My least favorite part of me is my nose. Why? Not sure. For my small face it is perhaps to straight. From the front I like it. From the side (profile).... not so much. On the other hand, my favorite thing about me (looks wise) is my smile. And perhaps my bubble butt and legs since those are what always get compliments.

Yesterday I loaded up Horse and headed to a benefit show for St. Jude's. It was a rainy day out but thanks to a covered arena the rain would not be a problem. The night was off to a good start with Horse and I winning second in the first two events. The second we missed first by a tenth of a second. Then it was time for our next class. A lone barrel was setup at the end of the arena. The goal to slow down enough on the way around to grab an object sitting on top of the barrel and race back. Fastest time wins.

Horse and I are first up. We approach the entrance and she bounces eager to run. I lean forward and loosen the reins. With a powerful thrust from her hind legs we exploded forward. She is fast. There is no doubt of that. I sit up and try to slow her as we approach the barrel. I lean down and grab the object as she makes the turn. Once she clears the barrel I, object in hand, go to lean up. Something goes wrong. I had been leaning to the right. BAMB!!! Her head had come up and made contact with my head and blinding pain flashed through my body. As I felt things move in my head that were not meant to move.

It happened so fast.

Blinding white light as I saw the ground rushing below. I remember thinking "great I'm going to fall off to," but I clung tight and was able to get a stunned horse to a stop. I think that my front tooth has fallen out, I panic. The announcer asks if I am ok.

At this point I am still a little dazed, giving the term 'seeing stars' a whole new meaning for me. I slide to the ground holding the reins of Horse as I lean against her for support. Then someone is by my side as I hear the announcer call for an EMT.

"Give me your horse."

Still stunned I look at the strange man. "I've got my horse." stubborn Irish coming out perhaps. I take the reins and start walking toward the gate. He is beside me again.

"I've got your horse, can you walk?"

I'm confused.

"Your bleeding bad. Walk over there and they will take care of you."

I am still worried about the teeth I can feel have moved in my mouth and don't fully comprehend what he is telling me. I reach a shaking hand up to my face and instantly pull it back stained and dripping blood.

Before I have anymore time to think I am surrounded by my three, loving mama hens. GirlFriends mom reaches me first. She hands me a towel to hold up to my gushing nose. They are all concerned about my nose. I am not.

"I don't care about my nose! My teeth! My front teeth are pushed back!" I try to tell them as Vixen's mom and my mom rush up. I open my mouth to show them.

I can see the panic cross their faces as I try to remain calm. My head is ringing my nose is like someone turned on a faucet. By this time I have went thru numerous paper towels and I am being hustled toward the truck. My hair had been hanging lose around my shoulders and as I walk I feel GirlFriends mom behind me take my hair swiftly in her hands and secure it back in a pony tail.

Mom, GirlFriend, and myself are in the truck in a matter of minutes and heading toward the emergency room. I of course am trying to crack jokes, because really what else can I do.

My hands are stained red and my nose seems in no hurry to stop the flood. At the ER my mom says I was hurt while riding a horse. They assume I have been kicked. No, no, no.. Head butt. My horse and I decided to see who was more hard headed and she won.

I am taken back to a room where my nose continues to bleed. I am still not worried about my nose it is my teeth I am concerned about. I wore braces for 5, long, years so that my teeth would be straight and in less than 5 seconds my straight smile was gone.

The doctor came in and I laid back on the bed. I have a high pain tolerance but as he poked and prodded my face in a not nice manner I had to fight the urge to deck him. He could see it hurt, so could he have not been a tad more gentle? Very insensitive. He then shined a light up in my nose making grunting noses. He then asked me to open my mouth. He pressed on the moved tooth. I winced in pain. As if he didn't notice he presses again. "That hurts." I tell him.

"So is this how your teeth are normally?"

Did he really just ask this? My level of respect for him just dropped. I mean can you not see the blood oozing from my gums?

"No, they are usually straight," I reply.

He then tells me my nose is busted but not broken and that the rest of my face seems to be in tact. No fractures. [ Even though my nose is my least favorite part of my looks I am thrilled to hear it is intact, and will perhaps never feel again that it doesn't fit. ] Good news. I get a prescription for antibiotic and pain medicine and am sent on my way.

It is about 9pm by this time but we were able to get thru to the dentist and he says its good the teeth did not fall out. I have to go see him 8 am Monday morning to see if he can fix my teeth or if I will have to have surgery.

As I arrive home and look in the mirror I see a face looking back at me that vaguely resembles me. My pretty smile is gone. In its place a smile I hope to not become to familiar with.

Today ~ Eating is painful. My nose and face hurts. I can not put my teeth together because the teeth knocked back then hit my bottom teeth and sharp pain shoots like fireworks.

I think that if it weren't for bad luck I would have no luck. Oh well accidents happen. It could always be worse. I have no dental insurance so I dread to hear how much it is going to cost to get my smile back.

Guess I will have to wait and see..... but I hope I can have my smile back. Somethings you don't miss till they're gone.

Tee Time

After work yesterday (I'm sorry I'm always a day behind) I met Fire Guy and we headed to the local golf course. For the record I will state again I have never played "real" golf and I'm not even that good at putt putt, that added with my klutziness I was sure this would equal disaster. But I'm pretty athletic; always been into sports so how bad could it be? At least that is what I told myself. We pulled up to the club house and Fire Guy ran in to get golf balls and tees, then we proceeded to the driving range. Here he explained this would be my first lesson and next time we would actually go out on the course. He started out by hitting a few balls trying to show me form, how to hold the club, etc. With a smile he goes to his golf bag and retrieves a smaller iron (I think that's the right term) and hands it to me. I approach the tee and waiting golf ball cautiously trying to remember all he has told me in the last few minutes......... which while he was talking I was intently watching the birds flying overhead (a little to low) wondering if they ever got hit with a ball and if so would it actually kill them or just stun them........ I tend to drift occasionally. But I got this. I line up the arrow with the ball, swing the club back, and bring it down in one smooth motion making perfect contact with the ball. It goes a little ways, not the high arched - perfect shot - I'd hoped for but not bad for first time. We continued to hit for probably about an hour and minus a few minor goof ups, I did pretty well. I mean I didn't accidentally hit him with a club or anything so I would call it a successful trip......... and I had so much fun!!!

I have to give it to Fire Guy we have yet to go on a traditional date, you know dinner and a movie, but I always have so much fun! He's so laid back and when I did mess up he didn't get mad or frustrated, just laughed with me as I tried again. I like the fact that he doesn't stick with the norm and tries to take me to do new things or things he knows I will enjoy.

After golfing we returned to my house where I planned on cooking him diner. Fajitas. Now I am not much of a cook....... ok perhaps that's an understatement. I CANNOT cook...... I can bake....... cookies, cakes, etc. And I can marinate chicken and bake it (which is pretty much my speciality) but I can't really cook. And my friends love to give me a hard time about this...... oh yes there are stories but I will save those for another day.

I cut the chicken into strips and place it in the sauce and suggest we let it marinate and in the meantime take Hyper for a walk. So with Hyper running happily we walk down the quite road that runs thru my neighborhood. When we return I place the wok on the stove and wait for it to heat up. I have watched Vivi do this before and I'm convinced I to can do this.

[ Upon retelling this story to Vivi ~ she informed me that every cooking story I start out with "I did it the way I've seen you do it" never ends good. ]

Fire Guy is telling me a story and I, thinking the pan is hot enough, pour the chicken in. He makes a noise/smirk as I do this.

Me: "What?"
Fire Guy: "I don't think the pans hot enough."
Me: Puzzled look
Fire Guy: "It needs to get hotter before you put the chicken in or the outside will cook and the inside won't be done and it will overcook."
Me: "Gotcha." I pour the chicken back into the bowl it had been in previously, feeling slightly stupid.

He smiles and we go back to the previous conversation as we wait for the pan to heat to the proper temperature...... still not sure exactly what that is or how to tell. But after a few more minutes I decide its probably good. Before I can pour the chicken in Fire Guy informs me I need to pour a little vegetable oil in the wok. ???????? At this point I laugh, step back and let him do the cooking. And I stuck to what I know how to do..... prepare the side dishes! I made the rice, heated the tortillas, and made the cheese dip. The meal turned out excellent! So at least I know he can cook.......

Also on a side note ~ when we had first arrived at my house he informs me I have a break light out. I already knew this. It had been out for months. I know I need to get it fixed. But it's one of those things you kinda forget about. I know, I know. I tell him I know it's out and been meaning to fix it but (insert trail off here). He smiles shakes his head and turns to walk back to his truck where he retrieves a small tool box. He comes back to the 4Runner, lifts the back gate and removes the tail light. He takes the bad bulb out while telling me he'll pick one up tomorrow and fix it for me. I mean how nice is that?

Fire Guy is a great guy and I do kinda like him....... He's got that 'get it done' personality I have always wanted in a guy. Yet I'm still not ready to fall for him. It's to soon. He is also always such a gentleman. Meaning he hasn't even tried anything (you know what I mean) which for a guy our age is pretty impressive. And no he's not gay, in case you may be thinking that. He's just really respectful. Like he knows I'm not ready therefor just enjoys being with me....... And the problem with all this is X still has my heart. Fire Guy has all the qualities and traits that I longed for X to have plus some yet why do I still miss X? Cause we were together for so long? Habit? I feel like I take 3 steps forward and 2 steps back but that's ok I guess the point is I'm moving forward. And I feel really lucky to have met Fire Guy he's made it easier to move on knowing that there's no pressure and it's just one day at a time.

Read My Lips

When I started this blog it was really for my own personal pleasure. To get my feelings out there and vent/bitch a little when the need should arise. I hoped others might read it and perhaps enjoy it but I really did not have faith anyone would ever stumble upon it. Then a few weeks ago I got my first comment (Cayman's Girl). I felt like Carrie in the Sex and the City episode when her computer pops up and tells her Aiden is online. She hits the floor and hides under the desk as if he can see her. I felt the same way. Someone out there besides Vivi (my only friend who knows about this blog) had read my blog! A wave of excitement rushed over me as well as a sense of nervousness. I felt the pressure that others may be reading this and that perhaps I should be more entertaining. Then today I posted about my high heeled experience and was pleased to learn I was not alone as 2sense and phoebe commented that they to could understand.

(Stick with me I promise I am on to something here)

Why is it that we will share stuff with complete strangers, my inner most personal thoughts in some cases, that we will not share with our closest friends? I know there are others out there like myself that write anomalously, it is like a blanket that I hide behind. It allows me to be completely innocent and the freedom to not sensor my posts. As I stated above Vivi is my only friend that knows this exits. It's not that I would mind if my other friends read my blog just that I like the fact that it's mine and mine alone - my attempt to tell my side of the story perhaps. I tell how I feel about Big, which they do not know all the factors to that equation as probably no one ever will. I tell my frustrations with X, my excitement of the new, what-ever you would call it, happenings with Fire Guy. And just day to day ramblings. Any way I do feel more comfortable sharing with strangers than people who know me. Odd isn't it? (insert shrug of shoulders here)

Ok that is my pondering for the day - moving on. Lipstick Jungle ~ new season starts tonight! I can't wait! I've heard some people rag on this show but I can't help it I loved it last season! Maybe it was Kirby, who was oh so cute! I mean that smile, those eyes...... ahem moving on........ Maybe it was the way I could relate to Nico and her desire for some flare in her life. Maybe it was the way Wendy took control in her 'jump when I say jump' type of way. Whatever the case I was hooked. Each week Vivi and I would glue ourselves in front of the TV to drool, I mean, watch the plots unfold.

In other exciting news I plan on seeing Fire Guy tonight, and depending on how late the course is open, he may take me to play golf. I have never played before (not to mention I suck at putt putt) but I'm always up for something new. The klutz in me is afraid I may be doomed. But I will remain optimistic.

"People by their nature are always on the lookout for intruders.
Trying to prevent those on the outside from getting in.
But there will always be those who force their way into our lives,
just as there will be those who we invite in...but the most troubling of all,
will be the one's who stand on the outside looking in.
The one's we never truly get to know."

Death By High Heels

Now I'm not one to wear heels on a daily basis. Wait let me start over, I love heels and wish that I was the type of girl who could wear them all the while walking naturally like they were apart of me. Sadly this is not the case. First off I'm a klutz. Plain and simple fact. Secondly even at my young age I have arthritis in my hips due to a sports injury in High School which makes wearing heels painful. But occasionally the girly side of me comes out and I pull out one of the few pairs of heels I own and slide them on instantly feeling a confidence boost that can only come from great shoes or the perfect purse. Come on you know what I'm talking about. For work the dress code is casual but still professional. So at least one day a week instead of slacks or a skirt I slide into a pair of jeans. And on days I wear jeans I always wear heels, you know to dress it up a bit. Don't want to look to casual.

I have on my jeans, cute grey shirt, and black heels. Perfect combination. As I go to leave work yesterday I step off the curve gracefully in my black heels...... and do a face plant in the parking lot! And I'm not talking about a graceful, lady like fall - I'm talking about the 'what the hell just happened', flailing arms, purse flying type of fall. Oh yeah. As I scrape myself off the concrete of course I am glancing around in embarrassment while scurrying to my car hoping no one has just seen my swan dive. Coast appears to be clear. So as I open my car door I take a moment to inspect my wounds. Or as I will call them today, battle scars. Yep big toe gashed opened (which bleed for an hour), scraped up bleeding knee, scrapped elbow, and scrapped hand. Oh yes 2 on the right side and 2 on the left side of my body. I'm an equal injury type of gal.
